14th Annual Chester County EMS Council, Inc. Awards Ceremony

Last night the Chester County EMS Council, Inc. held its 14 Annual Awards Ceremony to honor EMS week and recognize EMS providers from across the county.  The ceremony was held at the Red Clay Room in Kennett Square.  Congratulations to all of the providers who were honored last night and thank you to all the volunteer and career EMS providers who protect the citizens of Chester County.

The following individuals and services were honored last night:

Life Saving Clinical Excellence Awards

 A member of the Chester County emergency services community who was involved in the saving of a life based on the patient being in imminent danger of death.




Clinical Save Awards CPR/AED saves

A member of the Chester County emergency services community who was involved in the pre-hospital clinical save of a patient.  The save of the patient’s life was with either the use of CPR or the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).




















Citizen Awards







Maternity Awards

The Pre-Hospital Delivery commendation to EMS personnel who assisted in the delivery of a baby in the field.

Dominique M. Saturno                    BLS Provider of the Year

Presented to a Basic Life Support Provider who has made a significant contribution in Education, Leadership, and Training in emergency services.

Jessica R. Heale                              ALS Provider of the Year

Presented to an Advanced Life Support Provider who has made a significant contribution in Education, Leadership, and Training in emergency services.

Long Tran, Josh Prosser,                          Citizens Award

Sean Kushnerock

Presented to a citizen not affiliated with any Chester County EMS or emergency services organization, who participates or assists an EMS agency or personnel in a heroic or exemplary manner.

Jessica A. Bell                                  Tele-Communicator of the Year

Presented to an active dispatcher who has made a significant contribution in the active training and education of EMS and public personnel in the use, access or support of emergency 9-1-1 dispatch.

 Alexander D. McCarthy                   EMS Educator of the Year

Presented to an EMS Instructor who has made a significant contribution based on: leadership in the advancement of instructional techniques in the pre-hospital environment; exceptional administration of EMS educational or training programs for pre-hospital personnel or the community; and actively participates in EMS classes and certification examinations.

Jerry L. Peters                     Nicholas H. S Campbell Meritorious Service / EMS Leadership Award

 Presented to EMS personnel for exceptional contribution to the progress and improvement of the individual’s EMS service, for significant personal achievement related to the EMS service, or for a meritorious performance or dedication to the EMS service in general.

Malvern Fire Company                   Distinguished Service Award of the Year

Presented to a Chester County Emergency Medical Services organization that displays a significant level of cooperation among other services, outstanding performance and effort when faced with adversity, the promotion of an active display of teamwork, and support of various emergency services organizations in Chester County.

David A. High, Anthony Stabilo,                             Medal of Valor

Andrew P. Vattilana,Joseph Waldron                          

A member of the Chester County Emergency Services community who performs an

exceptional valorous act, distinguished by extraordinary heroism or performance.

Jonathan J. Werner                         Distinguished Provider of the Year

Presented to a member of the Chester County Emergency Services community who has positively impacted the service or community through longevity of exceptional service.

Mark J. Rupsis                                 President’s Award

This award is presented by the Council President to an individual or organization for a significant contribution and / or outstanding commitment to either the field of EMS or community at large.
