Stop the Bleed ® is a national call to action to teach the general public basic skills to treat life-threatening external bleeding. Stop the Bleed® is built on the concept that seconds count and immediate bystander-performed bleeding control can potentially save lives.
The Trauma Program at Paoli Hospital is providing a free Basic Bleeding Control train-the trainer program to our various EMS community partners on July 12th at Paoli Hospital. To become a trainer/instructor for the Stop the Bleed® program, trainer candidates are required to have one of the following credentials – MD/DO, PA, RN, EMR, EMT, or Paramedic in order to complete the trainer/instructor portion of the Basic Bleeding Control (B-Con) program. Once trained, instructors will be able to work with their community partners to provide Basic Bleeding Control courses.
